How much rent are you paying? Poll.

I understand rent is going to vary a bit depending whether you're a family, single, or supporting your eight bar girls, but I think it's still interesting to get an overall view of what expats are paying.
Perhaps make a reply stating whether you're out in the boonies or in the city. Maybe it's also worth commenting if you've noticed or had rent increases in recent times.
Play, don't play. Pfft.

Never paid rent.
Proud owner of several derelict cheap apartments and a couple of good ones.
Wouldn't buy again in Cambodia though, with hindsight it was a shitty investment.
The only good thing is that nobody can kick me out or increase whatever I'm paying and not having to deal with a local landlord is a pretty strong benefit in my eye.
A friend of mine bought a house for his family that he put in his wife's name, no regret for him either.

After a few year renting, I became dissatisfied at the house never being a home. And also resented paying someone else’s mortgage for them.
Wasn’t willing to invest money in improving someone else’s house so ended up buying and have been happily updating and renovating since.
Monthly rental cost = zero.
As Logos suggested, it’s not an investment. Probably will never sell it, just pass it on to next generation.

200 per month for a split level apartment in Chum Kriel, Kampot, all bills inc' ( wifi too) and semi furnished, with a big room size balcony and very large garden. Doubt very much that you would get anything decent like that in PP, but elsewhere probably.
k440, something to do when you're pissed.
380 and its gone down twice in the last two years, for reasons never explained.
I find it too small, but it's smack in the middle of the last green, mature tree area in central PP with balconies front and rear so I stay.

Says a lot about the OP that he didn't even consider home owners are a thing.
He did, and initially had it as the first option, but as the poll function only allows ten options to poll with the op removed it.guest9 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 01, 2023 2:02 pmSays a lot about the OP that he didn't even consider home owners are a thing.
But I guess you wouldn't know the poll function only offers ten options because you would never have posted a poll, or ever contributed anything of any value. Another one on the sidelines throwing stones at others while they try get things going on K440..
If you can't add anything - get out of the fucking way!
Edited to ask when the guest function is finally going to get the flick? It always sucked.

When I moved in a year ago they said that the $650/mo I was paying (2Br, ~100sqm, PP) was the covid special reduced price and that it would go up to $750 on renewal. However, it’s renewal time now and they’re still publicly marketing the unit and its identical contemporaries at $650, so I wonder if they think they’re going to get $750 out of me… (which they’re not)

I’ve advocated for this several times, and every time it comes up the consensus is that the guest function is only ever used for shittiness and should be dropped. But it never actually happens.
Keep the guest function.
My last was $350 for two bedroom, three bathroom, elevator, security, in TTP.
