Establish a company in Cambodia
Just want to know about the procedures and conditions of company registration in Cambodia for Chinese mainland and Hong Kong people. Could you please provide the information about it? Thanks you!

Still mostly relevant I'd reckon.

Register at the Ministry of Commerce first. Cost: around 600$ if I remember correctly. Then take those documents to the relevant ministry relating to your business ('Ministry of health' for pharmacy related and so on). pay the fee, to finish the process.

I see this advice a lot on these forums, don’t register for tax because then you’ll have to pay tax.
This is a popular strategy that works brilliantly, right up to the moment that it very suddenly doesn’t any more.

Well this is my experience of having 2 registered companies. One I could not avoid buying, one I set up and really did not use but still kept paying for.
I am sure raendi and nerdlinger have different experiences of owning registered companies, perhaps they can share their experiences for balance rather than just contradict.

Note to self: Must be nice to morons.

So you do not have a limited liability company with shareholders, with monthly reporting to the government? (Not just tax).
I bet you have never had the tax officials come to your business look at the building then decide how much you should be turning over in terms of income and decide how much tax you should pay regardless of your expenses?

Literally the whole point of my statement was that it’s naive to break the law based on a small number of people’s experiences of getting away with it.
Making a thing of whether or not I personally have had my premises raided not just misses the point, it hurtles 180° away in the opposite direction to it.

I’d agree with this.nerdlinger wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 9:11 amLiterally the whole point of my statement was that it’s naive to break the law based on a small number of people’s experiences of getting away with it.

I do have experience in running a company here and all the red tape is a pain in the ass. But, the consequences for not complying can be much more painful.
Cambodia is very different now than it was 5 years ago, which was very different to 15 years ago. It’s much more difficult to operate under the radar these days.

Are you saying I shouldn't trust that ex-marine I met yesterday? He gave me a lot of good advice for investing my savings and promised prompt returnsផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Fri May 05, 2023 12:26 pmDated advice from a man in the pub is irrelevant to reality these days.
