I'm struggling to see what Cambodia has of interest to NZ businesses and vice versa. It's not like it's going to be a market for Fonterra and the dairy sector, and there won't be much demand for wool here. Fletcher Challenge are unlikely to do much here, and the forestry market is pretty much tied up. Telecommunications is in the hands of the locals and Vietnamese, and the banking sector won't be of interest to BNZ. What does that leave?
I can't think of a single NZ company operating here. Blue Kiwi on Street 19 doesn't count.

I know I'm unloveable. You don't have to tell me. I don't have much in my life, but take it - it's yours.

I guess we will see some kina, puha and toheroa's on the supermarket shelves in PP soon.
NZ have a somewhat policy of populating the country with well off individuals which includes Cambodians. The NZ dollar versus US dollar makes NZ make it attractive for Cambodians to buy property and /or businesses in NZ. Maybe the oversupply of youth each year after exams could be put to use in NZ on a working holiday visa. NZ usually follows closely to what the Australians are doing.
That'd be like a NZ fantasy girlie bar.ken svay wrote:A KTV staffed with sheep?
pew, pew, pew, pew!
NZ Chamber of Commerce proudly announces it's President. Jake Hecky aka Jake the Muss! "Cook the man some eggs woman" "too much muscles and not enough speed work" and then there is uncle Bully who was voted VP.
I know someone importing NZ milk. Cheese, beef and possum will be next. Forgot to add NZ building technology, Fletcher aluminium did the windows and doors at Phnom Penh's two biggest private school construction projects.
Kiwis have good building technology, well ahead of Australia.

Come one - come all to the launch this Thursday evening of the New Zealand (Cambodia) Business Association. Revel in the recent sporting success of New Zealand and meet our Ambassador for the region.

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did–in his sleep. Not yelling and screaming like the passengers in his car.
