Greetings my name is Ilya.
I am currently staying in PP and am offering
private chess lessons for beginners or advanced players.
Learn the beauty of this classical game in the traditional
Russian school approach.
For beginners I offer a 5 day intensive seminar after which you
will be able to play a full game of chess from beginning to end,
appreciating the possible intricacies and depth of creativity and technique at
each stage of the game. We would also develop a personal playing style
to which the student is naturally inclined to. Online resources of how to acquire more information
on these subjects would be provided for future study.
For advanced players we will be working on analyzing your current playing style and improving
the weak areas whether in the opening, middle or endgame theory. We will be looking at games of Grand Masters
who use the same playing style.
I am also available for casual blitz games with a chess clock.
If you would like to learn more about my credentials and are interested in the lessons please contact [email protected]
thank you for your time

Hi Ilya, and welcome. Just curious what your favorite opening might be.
"Not my circus, not my monkeys" - KiR
I am currently using D.Bronshteins "Learn Chess" Manual
and he classifies the openings under
Open e4-e5
Closed d4-d5
SemiOpen, SemiClosed: is when black doesnt answer whites first move with a symmetrical move.
In my tournament games or the first games of a blitz match I am an e4 player and feast on caro-kahn and the french.
If you play a lot you have to know all the systems but some are easier to play depending on your style.
d4, kf3 systems are good for patient players and ones that like slow torture and more methodic chess.
openings are overrated though unless one is already an expert level player. End games and middle game planning
is the next step after learning about basic piece development and castling. Chess is about awareness training not really memorizing.
