Tom, Nina came on here looking for an apartment and you proceeded to tell her that her boyfriend is going to cheat on her and she, as a female, is going to have a horrible time in Phnom Penh. That's not a great way to treat a first time poster and your projections about Nina's life are far from true. Just because you aren't happy doesn't mean the women that live here aren't happy.
Tom why get so hot and bothered about other peoples relationships, if he comes out here and cheats... he´s a twat, she dumps him and is spared years of marriage to the dickhead. Or he come to "the den of vice" remains faithful and life goes on.
Like every place on earth fun comes from interaction with other people * and Phnom Penh has no shortage of potential friends.
That said people watching in Phnom penh is certainly more interesting than in any European, US or Ozzie city i´ve ever lived in.
*except the obvious solo pleasures but pretty sure the little fella doesn´t mind what country he´s in

Seemed to be a pattern developing with your posts to questionable threads Tom, i.e. sock puppets maybe? Come back on that TC; it's ok to be a twat sometimes as long as you don't make it a career.

So? That's it?
That's the way you are going? Bashing me because you don't agree with a reasonable opinion?
1° My opinion is that if I'm a girl, I'll think twice before bringing my boyfriend/husband in Phnom Penh for a two months holidays.
Why is that Tom?
Because Phnom Penh is more like Pataya than Paris or London. Because I know far too many long time couples who had split here. Because I have many women friends who will never let their husband comme to Phnom Penh (or Pataya, or Bangkok). I didn't say every boyfriends cheats here, I only say it's most likeky to happen here and no where else. When you love somebody, even if you have faith and you trust that person, you don't go to Temptation Island without taking a risk.
Yesterday I walked from my house to Garage. I passed by 200 nice girls willing to fuck immediatly for 20$, certainly a few for free, and tens of tuktuks and motodops asked me If I wanted boum boum.
This is Phnom Penh. You all know that.
2° Is Phnom Penh a boring city?
Well, at least we can cut the crap and say it's not entertainment city. Most of the night life is sex or booze oriented. Two months ago there wasn't even a cinema. If you are a girl and don't have friends here because you just landed and know no one, well, there is no meetup here, hope you like the booze and don't mind dancing with ladyboys and freelancers at pontoon, heart or darlin darlin.
Phnom Penh? No friends = no fun.
3° Me.
So That's it? Only old timers can share a thought or an opinion here? Phnom Penh is that so mysterious that you need 10 years to figure things out?
To all the dick heads digging in my last month threads, don't assume I'm a newbie because some of my posts are roleplayed.
My daughter has a visa K (for those who knows what it is) and she's three years old. Now you can guess for how long I've being living here.

That's ridiculous. I know you're new here, but have you ever heard of Elsewhere, Gasolina, Equinox, Java etc? There are plenty of respectable venues here.Tom Corsica wrote: If you are a girl and don't have friends here because you just landed and know no one, well, there is no meetup here, hope you like the booze and don't mind dancing with ladyboys and freelancers at pontoon, heart or darlin darlin.
Yes there was, there's a multiplex in Sorya and Lux cinema has been open for the best part of decades. Five years ago there were tons of cinemas. Two months ago there wasn't even a cinema.

Agreed. It's easy to make friends in Phnom Penh -- especially for women! I came here alone and had people to go out to dinner with, etc. in days. The good RAA herself found me within my first month and invited me to some lovely dinner parties. Go to a pilates, yoga or kickboxing class or even just the gym. There are swing dancing classes, the Hash House Harriers or an afternoon at the Flicks. Make a Twitter account. There are various meetups around the city, I know people who go to the couchsurfing one, I went to a travel one and surprise, surprise, I made a few new friends there!hanky wrote:That's ridiculous. The great thing (it's also a hard thing) about Phnom Penh is that people are coming in and out all the time. This makes the expats in town much more open to meeting new people because their friend circles are constantly in flux. I have lived in many major cities and this has got to be the easiest one to make friends in if you aren't socially retarded.
I'm sorry you're having a hard time making friends and having fun, Tom, but I don't think that's Phnom Penh's fault.
If it was a reasonable opinion someone would have agreed with you by now.Tom Corsica wrote:So? That's it?

Tommy, why not take your child to Monkey Business upstairs from Paragon. Lots of parents there you can talk to and probably make friends with. Your kid will have fun too.
But why the need for such foul language in a genuine thread started by and no doubt read by women?
Anyway, please take it all in good spirit and I hope you can find happiness in Phnom Penh.

Cambodians born abroad can get K visas, so that doesn't really show how long anything has been going on. You do seem like a newby who hasn't wandered far from the riverside though, give it a while and you might figure out that life exists outside of Daun Penh district.Tom Corsica wrote: My daughter has a visa K (for those who knows what it is) and she's three years old.
