Over the bridge, there.
Anybody heard any reports?
I quite like the look of them.

Yes, that bright yellow trim is sharp, indeed.
Someone was on here a few months ago trying to rent out his condo there.

I quite like the look of them too...but have decided they are just a bit too far out of town for me to stick my retiring Dad in.
CBRE are reputable, and the build quality looks good, but just too damn far away.

So is Mekong Gardens different from Mekong View? I'm confused.

I'm confused now gavinmac...the skyscraper city forum link has photos of what I think of as Mekong Gardens
But as it is clear for all to see is signed as Mekong Condo in blue lettering...but that is the same as Mekong Gardens website, so perhaps they should change their signage? http://www.mekong-gardens.com/Home.aspx
But the link to an old 440 thread has a picture of another block...Mekong View which is (I think) not all that far away and is on the peninsula just over the bridge and is a single tower block.

Yep, the single block over the Jap brdge: not that far away and nice views. But the link to an old 440 thread has a picture of another block...Mekong View which is (I think) not all that far away and is on the peninsula just over the bridge and is a single tower block.
I am also confused now by the websites, but still like the look of it.

The yellow condos are down highway 6, but the white one is in the middle of the Chroy Chungvar peninsular. Personally, I wouldn't move over here at the moment. There is a process of gentrification going on; cables are being laid down the roads, pile drivers all along the river bank. The bridge is also getting very busy. I anticipate big problems at the roundabout when they get closer to completing the twinning of the bridge. Things are rapidly changing over here.
I'm considering moving 'into town'.

Thanks for clarifying, Hot Pink.
Have you had a chance to have a peek inside the white one?

Go directly to their website and you can see.

The apartments look too boxy for me, although the pool and other facilities look okay.

Go on then, give us the full lowdown!dark__blue wrote:i live there

OK.
Had a look at both these places.
The Mekong view, the tall single tower you can see from anywhere along the river is a piece of shit:
A deep litter chicken house turned on its end, with design and finish carried out by the same architect employed by the Munsters. Dark, dank, details unfinished and with the stench of decay and uric acid already seeping from the walls.
The cheapest and worst products have been used throughout and the balconies, miserably small and depressing, have been created in the New York garbage-chute style. A couple of weeks and you'd be considering taking a dive off them (if you could get the steel door open).
Mekong Gardens, the one down the highway a bit and with the yellow and green colours, is actually very very good. I mean international condo style good. Great furniture, fittings and finish. Spacious and fabulous views, huge balconies and a little pontoon down on the river.
They have only let 33 of 146 units so are very much open to offers but for me it's just a little bit too far from the city. A man could get mighty lonesome out there.
But for a family....perfect.
