Thanks for the warning but I am aware of crop theft or thieving staff, as i said i have seen it all before in my in laws plantation and clients plantations, yet they are still very profitable.
I factored 6 people (3 + 3 spouses and a few kids) live in and many more during harvest (based on harvest cost by kg) for a total cost of 36.000$/Year (for years 7+) in workforce.
That's enough to have 19 full time farmers year around if i wanted to. (or 6 full time and 50 people during a 100 days harvest). If not mechanized.
Also i already factored in a 4% loss to theft.
Honestly without offense what is your recommendation?
Should I just forget about fruit plantations, and go for other crops? Buy 10 honda win motorbikes for the workers and some dogs?
Considering that a 50Ha plantation is more or less a square of 707m side would you build 2 watchtowers (which could double as water towers)?
How do the thieves keep stealing your crops?
50Ha plantation land for sale near Thai border 3000/Ha (close to anlong Veng - Surin)

Put on an electric shock fences perhaps. Maybe not a good idea as your hired labors might get electrocuted themselves. It could work, but there has to be a person knowing his trade and responsible in charge and dedication...but I doubt most dont have no motivation if you pay them peanuts. My friend's mom bought a piece of land around there bigger than yours for 6k. Cant think of any savvy business person would pay 150k especially when the general election just around the corner. Anyway, why just cashew, why not rubber plants as well, it is on high demand in Europe though it will take 7-10 years to get any yield.

even if it was remote flood land barely good for rice it would cost at least 20k for 50Ha. Even a decent rice field now sells for 1500/Ha. Plenty of examples. The only way its possible if she bought in the 1990s when nobody knew if private property was going to be recognized and there where no roads or titles.
Or if the land has no title at all (pretty much is govt. land).
Anyway i already received offers for 2000$+/Ha from khmer people just saying.

Are you for real on this? The land was bought in the late 2000s.

Sure if you got the proper titles and the land isn't some swamp or minefield.
To be honest I cant see why wouldn't you buy it and resell it yourself.

I could but the Mom would probably wanted more than the original bought price. Trust me, they deal with lands all the time she knows her field. Besides, say if I buy it would require me to live there 24/7 counting down the years for the next decade for any fruition. Reselling it for a neat profit...maybe I could but its a gamble.
Also you might or not already know of the Cambodian unwritten law that if you left your land vacant for a year or 2 other people are allowed to claim it.
