Strange landlord that rummages through my garbage. WTF
As the title states. I have an apartment situation where I have a large apartment with a proper bed in a bedroom and a large futon. I have AC in my bedroom and a Khmer style bathroom with hotwater heater, which I try not to use to cut down on electricity/utilities. I just find it odd that he rummages through my AEON shopping bags full of trash. I spoke with a fellow expat friend that thinks he's pulling my plastics from my water bottles for recycling reasons, but where in PP do people recycle. I thought they just put all the trash in the mortuary ovens for electricity. What is he looking for. Needles to see if I'm an outta whack meth/heroin stoner? Looking for rotten food? Watermelon rinds? LOL
I would try to put the worst possible crap in there if it happened to me, like a human sized doll with a blonde wig and lots of bloodstains.

I usually put recyclable stuff in separate plastic bags like cans and bottles, they are usually gone in less than half a day. Sometime I keep them to sell it for myself. Your friend might be right. I often see can collectors rummaging through rubbish bins on my way to work on most mornings looking for sell-able stuff.

Who said anything about recycle bins? Have you seen the folks walking round the streets dragging or pushing a cart full of plastic bottles/cans/cardboard? They're the ajais. They collect the recyclables from everyone's garbage. Actually if you've got a lot they'll even pay you for them. So your landlord probably adds them to his collection and flogs the lot to an ajai from time to time.marukai wrote:Lucky Lucan wrote:Everywhere.marukai wrote: I spoke with a fellow expat friend that thinks he's pulling my plastics from my water bottles for recycling reasons, but where in PP do people recycle.

And why do you think anyone cares about your futon and water heater?

I can just see your eyes light up and say oh man he gots a hot water heater and futon. Imma go to Blue Chilli or Pontoon and bring me back a Lady Boy so she can clean up with that heater and so I can do her on the futon. You want a Lady Boy
Recycling seems the obvious choice.
Next time your going to take out the rubbish, walk across your large bedroom past your large bed and large AC unit to your large kitchen and grab a large AEON bag, separate your plastics, metals, glass etc into said bag, see if your large landlord rummages largely through one or the other, or both.

Did you never watch Columbo? OP, how's the job search going? Things must have picked up if you have a proper bed now.
marukai wrote:Long story short. I purchased a one way ticket to Cambodia do take a job doing TEFL; however it has been a daunting experience searching for a job. I now want to leave and go back to the US. I don't have enough funds to purchase a return flight, so what am I to do? I have read several articles about going to the US embassy to seek out help. It seems the TEFL scene is over saturated and hence the problem finding work.
