Buying plot land in Svay Jrum a good deal?
I have heard various rumors which says government plan to build bridge from Chhroy Chong Var to Arey Ksat. Many boreys have been being built while many plot land (100 square meters) put on sale with price around 12000 $. Just wonder if I want to buy one and build a house and put it on rent, would that be lucrative in the future?
It was great buying......6 years ago. We bought.
The bridge will never happen but you can get over there super easy on the ferries these days and its a nice way to decompress..
I can see the borays going up in the distance where once used to be farmland. Good for land prices I guess but I love the fact we were in the sticks......15 mins from PP.

I’d say it was great buying land in SHV only three years ago. Or in Kampot 12 months ago.
It’s all about timing.
I know people (expats) who paid $120 per sq in SHV which at the time (2015) I thought was bloody crazy and near a desolate dusty arse end area in 04. Just sold it for $1000 per sq!
Their only regret was not buying the other blocks.
$12k seems ok but if nothing happens then it’s still a $12k plot of land, or even worse $5k.

pew, pew, pew, pew!
They promised those bridges long time ago, will they be built? 90% yes but when? No idea, I thought the main issue was getting rid of the people in the shantytown at the other side but election is long passed and I am not sure why nothing has happened yet, maybe the big guys are trying to avoid making too much noise so the EU won't eliminate the EBA?
Still if someone knows of a big plot in svay chrum at a good price I might be interested, I could even buy it with some other posters if they know of a large plot at a good price which they just can't afford to buy due to the size.
@Ricecakes do you really think the bridge won't be built? If so why?
