So, I'll have some freetime on my hands in Vietnam/Taiwan on my upcoming business trip and was contemplating on organizing all of my bike/car posts with info into a one thread, just a thread with links to all the original posts or answers.
I've also in the meantime written maybe 10 or 20 guides that I haven't proofread or finished regarding bikes, so I wouldn't mind sending those to someone if they wanted to "host" or add, however that works, them somewhere.
Anyone want to second the idea of a sticky thread? If so, and you want to "help" with getting the PDFs of the guides I've written up to somewhere, I'll be more than happy to send what else I have on the way.
Let me know, if not no worries...the search engine always works too I guess.

Have you thought of just adding them to a blogging site somewhere. There are many free blogging resources, like wordpress or blogger allows you to host your own blog for free.AK87 wrote:So, I'll have some freetime on my hands in Vietnam/Taiwan on my upcoming business trip and was contemplating on organizing all of my bike/car posts with info into a one thread, just a thread with links to all the original posts or answers.

^^I could, but having my own website is something I really don't care to do. I don't understand how the whole interweb world of networking and such goes (I have no facetube account, twitter, internet channel etc etc.) and I don't really care to learn, the main thing is that if someone can benefit from whatever resources are out there and can find it easily, that's all that really matters to me.

No worries. I just suggested it as I thought it might be easier. Especially if you write more stuff later and want to upload it. You can always turn off comments and other features on your blog and just let it sit there and not worry about it till you want to upload something else. Wordpress and Blogger (and other free blog sites) usually aren't hard to use. No more difficult than posting the material on the forums here. It also means you don't have to worry about another persons site suddenly disappearing. Like I said, was just a suggestion.AK87 wrote:^^I could, but having my own website is something I really don't care to do. No problem, suggestions always appreciated. I tried a wordpress site a few years ago, and after weeks or trying to understand what was what, the cPanel program (whatever it's called) completely locked up and I lost all my saved data. I tried to restore it with the help of a friend, but it was no use, so I gave up.
I may post on here a lot, but besides that and email, I barely know how to use a computer. Think of me like the old lady who only knows how to turn the telly on and off and switch channels. If something changes or she has to learn something new god forbid, all hell breaks loose.

send it through to me and I'll run it through indesign and knock up a few PDFs and find somewhere to host them, or the kind folk at K440 could host.
