Yes they always set the idle too low, it seems common here as a perceived economy move. I always check that after a service and get it readjusted. If you take the bike back they will do the adjustment FOC. A couple of weeks ago my speedo stopped working. I thought maybe the cable had snapped. They found it had just worked loose, it was relubed and fixed FOC.walkjivefly wrote:Wifey took her Taurus in to the dealer on Tchecoslovaquie for a 1000k service. Lazy fuckers only changed the oil and filter and didn't bother to stamp the warranty book. For an unwanted bonus they fiddled with the carb or idle setting and now it cuts out at idle every time. Where's the idle adjustment on these machines?
Is it difficult to repair Yamaha scooters in Cambodia?
Does any kind soul know where I can get this particular fuel filter?
Or is there some way I could tweak it to use another type of easily available filter?
I have been asking the people at the moto shop to get it replaced, since it was leaking. They stopped the leaking by removing the seal inside, how? I don't know.
Just FYI, my bike's a China made MCT, 125cc. Not the greatest ride I have had but it's easy on the fuel, a full tank about 13L takes me almost 600km. Shitty assembly job, I had nuts and bolts falling off during the first month but once I got the entire bike tightened, I had no more trouble.
Thinking of selling it and getting the Keeway Superlight 200 which looks quite cool. It's (the MCT) 15 months old, with papers. $900, any takers?

Just an update re getting service/ repairs for small Yamahas. Last months service I asked if they could change the chain and sprockets, but unfortunately "no hab", the "supervisor/chief mechanic?" assured me they would be in stock for my next service. Although I have been fairly lucky here I still thought "Yeah right". A couple of days ago I went for a service and asked them again to change sprockets and chain and they were actually in stock.Mèo Đen wrote:Bought my Jupiter a couple of years ago at Yamaha Town No. 35 DEF, Street Tchecoslovaquie. They were really helpful in getting all the registration done. I do about 1000k a month and change oil every month, oil filter every 3 months and air filter twice a year, also changed the plug once. They always had the parts when I went for service. The only problem I have had with non stock of genuine spares was with a battery which I replaced with a non standard item at 1/3rd the price. I occasionally call round for chain/brake or card adjustment which they do free of charge.AE86 wrote:Admittedly I never went to any of those branches you've listed, but I know at least for Honda it's very much a case by case basis on who is helpful and who is not. The dealer next to my place is virtually useless at anything more than an oil change.
The front pads were pretty much "cactus" so I got those replaced as well. However you do need to be on top of these guys as once the basic oil and filter change had been done things came to a standstill. After I short while I asked the supervisor politely WTF is happening? He went off to the service desk to find the parts waiting there. No one had bothered to check
However once the parts were collected things moved pretty quickly and in around half an hour everything was done with three guys working simultaneously on the bike. They even stripped and cleaned the back brake assembly and dismantled and lubed the brake actuator. This was done by the supervisor.
At which service centre did you get the parts / work done?
Yamaha Town No. 35 DEF, Street Tchecoslovaquie. It's the place where I bought it and have used the same place for all servicing repairs. A while ago I broke the aluminium mounting for the wing mirror when my bike blew over in a storm. They replaced it for about $8 I think. I was surprised at the time as I thought that part may have been non stock.Chuangt2u wrote:At which service centre did you get the parts / work done?
