Hey,
Does anyone have the phone number and address of the Khmer/Kiwi guy (he's an ethnic Khmer who used to live in New Zealand and talks with a NZ accent) who runs an auto repair shop (smash repairs) in Phnom Penh?
I went to his shop once back in 2011 but can't remember how to get there now. I remember he was out in the suburbs somewhere.
I tried googling him but as I don't know the name of the shop or the guy, googling Cambodian/New Zealand guy Khmer/Kiwi and any other combination thereof yielded nothing.
I'm sure someone here must have heard of him, seeing he speaks excellent English, which is unlikely to be common for an auto repair shop in Cambodia and surely some expats would have used his services at some stage?

He used to be on the lhs of 271 about halfway between where you come off the flyover ramp and the turn to Northbridge. His garage was hard to find as the driveway dipped sharply off the road. Can't remember the business name sorry.fwiw...I did not rate the service I got there.

OK thanks.
Well when I found him back in 2011, which was totally by accident, I was so surprised to find a fluent English speaker who could explain to the panel beaters how to fix a dent in the side of a pickup I rented after a motorcycle smashed into it as my friend (who was driving) made a sharp left turn just before we arrived at our hotel.
Maybe 30 minutes and $20 later, good as new.
I'm wondering if he goes paint work as well, there's a couple of deep scratches on my front bumper.

He is long gone. I was quite disappointed in his service when I used him. He was more panel beater than
mechanic. He did lots of insurance work in Auckland. His family were fishermen in Koh Kong and he says they were at sea when the KR arrived and sailed to Thailand. They ended up in NZ and retrieved him after the war. He was 15 years old in primer one!

OK good to know. I didn't end up going out to try and find him, after searching extensively on Google Maps Street View in the aforementioned area couldn't make out his garage so I too assumed he wasn't around anymore. Good thing I didn't end up wasting time driving around trying to find him on street 271. The traffic earlier this week was absolutely crazy.
