Did 58kph down a mountain in Colombia fully loaded, nearly shat myself when the front wheels started to wobble.

9k in China. Does it get taxed like a car?
Good for around town where you're lucky to get above walking speeds during rush hour

A bar that has fridges has warm beer. A bar with ice bins can truly server ice cold beer. Also saves on you power bill.

An electric car in a country with unreliable, expensive electricity, and almost zero charging spots on national roads. Great idea.

I once looked into EV taxation and it's taxed according to the equivalent power of the gas guzzlers, iirc

It is. A while back I was talking with several manufacturers of electric motorbikes in China, even buying from them as the offical distributor was not viable under the customs and excise costs.

The parts can be bought individually or as a kit for 100mph electric motor bikes and the parts to convert cars also so if someone took an already licensed and tax vehicle and converted it with HP, CI of cc, whatever they base the taxation on, but was below the already taxed specifications would that work.

example: If you bought a cheap 5hp motorcycle with blown engine and transmission needed either as neither of them are needed for electric moto. Then powered it with a 2000w electric hub motor which would calculate as @ 3hp would you owe taxes ?

If a bike owner replaces a gas motor do they need to re-register and pay extra taxes if the new motor has more hp ?

I don't have to register my ebike or have I license there are lots of ebikes that a person can build capable of 50+ mph that can be built easily at home with off the shelf parts that would need no taxes etc

I've been riding mine for a year and a half. I go by the police check point everyday they never bat an eye. Here they are just like bicycles no restrictions. My home is on a one-way street I go by the same police check point on my way home from the market going the wrong way they don't care. Though it can do 45kph it is still considered a bicycle.

Coincidentally, I came across this article this morning about electronic bikes.

Image

"Cowboy has raised a $26 million (€23 million) Series B funding round from Exor Seeds, HCVC, Isomer Capital, Future Positive Capital and Index Ventures. The startup has been manufacturing premium electric bikes and selling them directly to consumers around Europe.

The company recently released the third generation of its flagship bike, which is all about refinements and iterating on its existing offering. If you haven’t seen one in a European city, it features an iconic triangle-shaped aluminum frame with integrated pill-shaped lights
."
