Eh?
Lots of traditional gas cars can be turned off and started remotely. It’s been around for over 20 years.

Even if the world at large has a fresh water shortage, places where it isn't an issue, like low populated areas with large river flows and no large needs further down stream etc, do not have this issue, and their consumption has no global impact. So I think water "waste" needs to be judged on a case by case basis, comparing long term availability to current needs on that location and how it impacts other regions, for rivers further down stream, for water basins other locations depending on it.spitthedog wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 5:21 pm"The biggest environmental danger posed by lithium mining is the amount of water the process uses up: an estimated 500,000 gallons of water per ton of lithium extracted. Easy: "We did not certify the car for the Cambodian environment, not suitable".

That makes no sense, how could companies could possible prevent usage of products based on country of residence? Yeah they could switch off the auto drive feature in certain countries - that could make sense.v12 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 12, 2021 9:00 pmEasy: "We did not certify the car for the Cambodian environment, not suitable".
Apart from that, how could somebody in Cambodia take legal action against a big firm in the US ? The Cambodian legal system is not suitable for that, probably no treaty around that between Cambodia and the US and legal action in the US itself would cost more than the value of the car.......

That is called "a license", a software license. Software licenses do get validated online.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 8:36 amThat makes no sense, how could companies could possible prevent usage of products based on country of residence? Could you imagine the PR mess if Tesla bricked a car imported into Cambodia?
Is this even a thing? Can companies prevent purchased products being used in certain areas? I can’t think of any examples. Apart from online stuff like Netflix and Amazon Prime which are online services and not a physical product…
I’m off now to install a VPN in my car… I’m too clever for them.

Show me any Cambodian terrain, and I'll find a pic of a motodop going over it on a 125cc scooter with 200kgs of lumber on the back.Guest9999 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 6:06 am...but are manageable over curbs and obstacles in a way standard 125cc scooters are not.
