can be quite usefull ... around Europe I see more and more business cards with a qr code link to website and contact details on the rear.. beats typing in an URL..

I have seen them, never used them, fark, I don't even have a phone ! (no coverage where I currently live in Aus.) A few wine labels have them in Aus, for example, so you can take a pic on your smart phone and go straight to the info about them online, for example. I saw a few in Thailand when I was there back in March.

They are everywhere in Japan - and have been for a number of years. Apparently, there are some companies in the US and Australia which are going to start embracing QR this year. From what I've heard, one of the biggest reasons why it hadn't caught on in previously is because all of the iPhones up until the most recent one (4) have had shit cameras which were incapable of deciphering the code the vast majority of the time - especially in low-light situations.
I bought this crappy t-shirt in Cambodia. I thought it looked cool but didn't realise it said I was a smelly backpacker. Shit I should have bought 10 of them because I really do smell
