Places to buy computer towers and monitors?
Places to buy computer towers and monitors?
I'll be arriving in PP in September and I'm looking into taking my desktop components with me, but not the larger items such as the tower and monitor. Would there be places to buy these that aren't horrible quality (if they work I'm good) and how much? Thanks you guys!

Surely those are in the tower, unless he's just looking to buy a tower case?

The mouse and keyboard?

There are hundreds of computer shops, how much depends on what exactly you want.

The hassle and potential to damage the components taking them out of and putting the back into the case isn't worth it. Leave the monitor as you can get them cheap here second hand, about $75 for a 19" Dell unit.Tetrisash wrote:I'll be arriving in PP in September and I'm looking into taking my desktop components with me, but not the larger items such as the tower and monitor. the only things you can carry with you reasonably safely is the HDD, DVD Drive, maybe the video card.
If you end up having to buy the mb here, the OS in your original HDD may not be compatible with the new hardware.

Just wondering what screen is the OP current use. imo, 19" screen is too small, what resolution does this Dell unit got?dv8inpp wrote: Leave the monitor as you can get them cheap here second hand, about $75 for a 19" Dell unit.
I just bought a 17.5" refurbished one from Newegg, not picky on the screen, or the tower as long as it has the space and a few fans like my current one. I built my current desktop so I'm not shy with taking it apart, and I'll only take it with me if the airlines will allow me to take them through security instead of checking it as luggage. If luggage, no way. Biggest worry is packing it safely. Thanks for the site, I'll be checking it out now, and I'm just glad to hear there are some good places to buy these things.
