A few weeks ago had to re-install Windows due to a nasty in the system. After re-installing Opera Browser,I thought what the fuck have they done.No more bookmarks,no buttons to add to search bar,no mail client and no side bar!!!
Having been an Opera user since my first computer, and having a enormous dislike for IE. Now have changed to Google Chrome. So far been OK,but still miss the old Opera Browser.
So now we have another browser the same as the rest, instead of being individual as Opera was.

Yeah, they fucked it up and I don't use 'em anymore. I liked 'em because nobody bothered to write malicious code for Opera.
Chrome is good, I only switched back to Firefox (made by Mozilla) because of Google's antics with the NSA.

Use Chromium, the open source browser that Chrome is based on.
All the advantages of a great browser without the drawbacks of Google stuff, nor the Google layer.

You see, there's your problem.
Thanks for reminding me about Chromium. I tried it years ago and it had a minor but still irritating graphical glitch. It's much better (and much faster) now. I'm getting errors with flash videos, though. They work, or at least youtube does, but first I get unnecessary warnings about needing to install flash. Any ideas?

You indeed need to install Flash, but some different version than the Chrome one.
Here's the link to get it : http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
It will download some offline program that you need to run in order to have Flash installed for Chromium. Don't forget to close & restart Chromium after you installed Flash to enable it.

Hi Upstage, I've done that and I'm now just getting a whole load "Chromium has stopped working" messages. Although it appears that it's just the Flash plugin as the browser continues to operate.
Chrome no longer needs a separate flash played installed as it has the flash-pepper-pot player built in.
On Linux, there's a pepper-pot that can install for Chromium but it doesn't seem to be available for Windows.
Still trying to work this one out.

I used Opera for many years, probably the better part of the past decade. It was so fucking awesome for a while - it was faster than other browsers and had tons of features first that are standard on many browsers now but we're innovations when they came out with it.
Tabbed browsing, for instance - Opera.
And then somewhere around Opera 11 they ran into a memory leak problem, it got coded into the mix somehow along the way. And it got worse and worse and worse. Opera would eat up all of the computer's memory and never relinquish it, even if you quit the fucking program, you had to kill the processes to release it. It made it pretty much unusable for me and although I kept downloading and trying each successive new version of Opera, I realized after a while that Chrome can do anything that Opera could, if you installed the right extensions.
Now Opera is apparently based on Chromium anyways, so I can't see how it would have enough unique appeal or advantages to gain any market share ... Too bad, it used to be the best thing going.
