WARNING HELLO FROM FRANCE
WENT TO THAT BLOG LINK ON HIS POST AND CLICKING PAGE 2 GOT A VIRUS OR SOMETHING AND SUPPOSEDLY A NUMBER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. The number was to break logic llc. I maybe got scammed but paid $300 to fix and lifetime service and protection.
Or maybe I just got totally scammed by some? ?
I'll leave the name calling to your imagination.

Have I got this right. You clicked on a blog link on a post on this site titled, presumably, "Hello from France"(I can't see a post you could be referring to) and you got a message telling you that you had a virus? You then forked over $300?

I saw the post yesterday but didn't bother reading the post let alone a blog linked to from the post

Basically ya. I've been tying to determine whether or not they are a scam company or not. Some review say yes others say no.

This is the thread in question:
http://www.khmer440.com/chat_forum/view ... 12&t=53442
Anyway maybe they are fixing my computer as we speak or totally stealing my identity anbank accounts. It looks like it is being fixed but who knows. Better call my bank.

Ah, right, I remember seeing it when it was first posted but it was of no interest so I didn't go to the blog.
Whether it's Scareware or a genuine virus I wouldn't be trusting that company to do anything. At best it's merely a Scareware scam and they'll be happy to take the $300 and not rip you off any more. At worst, well, I'm deducing you've given them some kind of payment details and access to your PC - which is obviously not good.
What anti virus and anti malware do you have? Do you have a firewall installed?

Yeah... id be calling the bank immediately. These scammers tell you your computer is hacked so that you will reveal personal bank / credit card for someone to fix it. But thats the scam right there, once you pay them the money is gone if it was a credit card then you might be in big trouble. This could be bad news...
This isnt a wind up is it? "How does it look like its being fixed???"

Just avg free. Not much of a techie. My computer had always been super slow and crashes easily. I've canceled my bank cards and now I'm on the phone to Mastercard and they are checking their fraud department to see if this company has a history and they will cancel payment if so. The next question is are they stealing my information?
I usually shut my computer off if I get this kind of crap. I don't know why I didn't this time.
DUH!!!!

So did you use both a bank card and a Mastercard to pay them?? Wouldn't it be one or the other?
The correct action when someone says hello from France is to immediately reply FUCK OFF.

Get yourself Malwarebytes and Superantispyware. There free versions of both and run scans on your PC with both of them. I can give you links to them if you want.
