No doubt there are other threads but just wondering currently about 4g in SR orPP, any tips ? Latest deals? I need about 25 down and 5 up.

I'm surprised you are even interested, as I've never seen a post of yours that was actually about Cambodia. Is your annual leave coming up?

Mbps? You'll be fucking lucky. SIMs are free or a couple of dollars. Bandwidth is about 1$ per GB.Jock Jock wrote:I need about 25 down and 5 up.

There are only 10 kinds of people in the world; those who understand binary and ...

Sure, but how come you never post anything about Cambodia?Jock Jock wrote:That would imply I work for someone else.Lucky Lucan wrote:I'm surprised you are even interested, as I've never seen a post of yours that was actually about Cambodia. Is your annual leave coming up?

Actually I read 'Cambodia in the News' all the time, admittedly I don't comment on it much, but to be fair there are only a finite number of worthwhile responses to headlines like;Lucky Lucan wrote:I'm surprised you are even interested, as I've never seen a post of yours that was actually about Cambodia. 'Kompong Speu man found with arm up cow's arse clutching stolen smartphone'

I guess it must make for a funny distraction while you're posting from the dreary UK. How's the brexit coming along? Had any sunny days recently?

I'm in Canada and it has been fucking boiling, doing my head in.
Did have a wee while in North Wales earlier in the year after I got back from Siberia, was nice.
How's Phnom Penh treating you? Been anywhere else this year?

Smart 4g continues to get worse. I was getting 20Mbps 12 months ago. Now, never more than 10.
That's not too bad, it's the upload speeds that are more critical to me TBH any idea?epidemiks wrote:Smart 4g continues to get worse. I was getting 20Mbps 12 months ago. Now, never more than 10.
A mixed bag. 5 to 15.Jock Jock wrote:That's not too bad, it's the upload speeds that are more critical to me TBH any idea?epidemiks wrote:Smart 4g continues to get worse. I was getting 20Mbps 12 months ago. Now, never more than 10.
I do get much better speeds, up and down, around Chaktomuk/Daun Penh area than at my house near Toul Sleng.
For a few bucks a month, can't really complain. It's fast enough for HD video streaming and video chat.
This is my experience too. They were great in the beginning of the year in my area but then they became gradually worse but I kept giving them new chances to get their act together.epidemiks wrote:Smart 4g continues to get worse. I was getting 20Mbps 12 months ago. Now, never more than 10.
Then my SIM card was blocked because I didn't register it in my name (strange, somebody else did register it in their name) and I purchased a new SIM from their shop where they assured me that my $10 topup had been converted to the Xchange plan. A few hours later my credit was inexplicably 0 and instead of going back to the shop with the receipt (who keeps those anyway?) or topping it up I went ahead and replaced them.
When I finally got rid of them I could barely get any signal to connect, and they ripped me off on credit so all in all good riddance.
Bless
Thanks for the info.
So realistically 4g could only really be a back up, but broadband could cope with 25down 5up.
What is the score with power outages nowadays? I know SR still has quite a few, are they still common in PP and do they still have that two tier system with electricty so you can pay the higher rate and be more guaranteed a continuous service?
