My old phone had all my contacts listed in WhatsApp. Contacts who didn't have WhatsApp could still be seen with a "invite this person to WhatsApp" message.
My current phone (Mi5) only shows this when I go to contacts:
There are a number of contacts under messages, but they're only people I've sent/received messages from before (before changing phones and syncing). I'd like to be able to see all my contacts, including those who I know have WhatsApp but I haven't messaged yet.
Anyways, after clicking on Settings I get this:
And finally this.
However, none of these can be changed. Can't be turned on or off. I tried going in normal settings, apps etc. Can't find anything. And ideas?

Aren't Android app permissions decided on install? Maybe if you reinstall WhatsApp you can grant it the permissions it needs.
