So cracked my monitor while moving. Shit luck, it's been around the world, but a tuk tuk ride was one too many.
Is there anywhere to get parts/repairs made in PP? From what i've read it's pretty tough to find parts, even in the west. But I've noticed they're good at scrounging parts up here to keep things ticking.
The monitor is an Asus gaming monitor, 144hz and all that. Model: VG248QE
Failing that, any where to sell a cracked monitor? haha
Any place to get a cracked monitor repaired (or parts)?
You must be joking.... Even if they are able to replace the broken part, they will probably replace it with a 19 inch 15 year old Iiyama tube display and tell you it's an upgrade.Dags wrote:So cracked my monitor while moving. You can get a monitor that size for less than $100. It's a stupid question anyway. Your phone or laptop might get a cracked screen, and because there is more to these devices than just the display, it may or may not be economical to get the screen replaced. A monitor is pretty much just a screen. There is of course the casing and some electronics. It might be feasible to get the power supply unit or whatever fixed, but if the actual screen has a crack or any problem it is fuct. It might be worth $5 for scrap parts.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
Yeah, replacement is always an option. I know the prices have come down a lot since i bought mine, so it might even be possible to get a 144hz for that price. I'm just used to fixing things.Lucky Lucan wrote:You can get a monitor that size for less than $100. It's a stupid question anyway.
