Solution to play and store MP3 music
I have about 80GB of stored music in mostly mp3 format. I used to have an ipod with all the music saved on it. However, it managed to wipe itself blank at least twice. Now I don’t trust it…
Mostly I connect to a JBL speaker to use around the house…
I can send the music from my laptop to a JBL speaker. However, that means the laptop has to be running all the time music is playing. Not ideal when in bed and I don’t want the laptop plugged in for hours. Or from my phone but 80GB will fill the phone.
Therefore can I ask for advice: is it better to get another mp3 player and just connect it permanently to my speakers? Or are there speakers with built in storage avoiding the need for two devices?
Something like this looks affordable:
I could then use a Micro SD card to take capacity from 8GB to 128GB.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

That particular player will not ship to the KOW.

No worries. I will be in the UK in a few weeks.
Not sure if its what I need or not though...
All the JBL speakers I have used also take SD memory cards that is the way I would go. The speakers are have great sound are portable, waterproof and can be connected via wired and bluetooth too.

Unfortunately, my JBL Charge 3 doesn't have a memory card slot. Dammit.
Hi Playboy,
The speaker is bluetooth enabled.
So that means it could connect to my phone (though don't want to load a huge amount of data and fill in the phone) or from my laptop (means it will have to be switched on when the music is playing).
I'd prefer to have all the data permanently connected to a speaker. Which makes me think the mp3 player I mentioned above could be the best solution but would need an extra data card to have it all in one place....

That was what I meant.
So Stevito could get himself an external hard drive, fill it with as much music as he wants, leave it attached solely to the speaker, and listen to the music on it when ever he wants.

Thanks.
So I think I need a copy JBL as my original doesn't have a lot! I was thinking of getting a JBL Horizon for the bedroom but (the original) also doesn't have a slot!

Though how does plugging in a SD card mean I can select the music? I need a screen to select song/album etc right?
I would have similar genres or albums on separate cards better yet would be to have playlists you could add to or delete music as you wish. The buttons on the top allow for skipping tracks.
