I'm supposing hotel staff have had to mop up the mess after the body checked out?.
RIP

Right....that's where the horror movie ( shitloads of blood ) aspect comes into it.Pol Pothead wrote:I'm no expert, but I doubt auto-erotic asphyxiation usually includes slitting one's wrists to enhance the sexual pleasure.ricecakes wrote:I reckon he went for an auto asphyxiation horror movie wank and fucked up.

They love to morbidly watch it so long as it is at a distance. I think the poster was (correctly) referring to those individuals who are caught up directly in this, the ones who own the hotel (Definitely not happy, why do you think they try to ship bodies off site if they can? Plus, this means there's now a ghost in the room and the Khmer staff will be continuously spooked to have anything to do with it.), those who have to clean it up, etc.violet wrote:poor Khmers? No kidding. My Managers on Duty need to spend the night in the hotel, in a different room each night; there is a room where they refuse to spend the night as supposedly people got killed in that spot before the hotel was built.Jacked Camry wrote:They love to morbidly watch it so long as it is at a distance. Re the window consideration I was staying at a slightly more mid range hotel than this place and noticed the windows could be opened from both sides. There was also a ledge big enough for 2 locals to stand on directly underneath, and right next to the hallway.
The hallway window was conveniently left open to allow a quick in and out or pass through of belongings in what I presumed was an inside job. Nothing happened to me, I made sure of that, and the scam was hence exposed and actions taken.
However for this chap it sounds like a sad self-inflicted demise. RIP and compassion for the family and others affected.
If you are depressed or suicidal then help and hope are available should you wish it.
There is a decent psychiatrist practice in town I believe (Sunrise Clinic?) and some support groups for things like booze & addiction or even religious places that may be willing to try to find help for people considering suicide or in bad situations.
Human kindness shines through if people are willing to seek it.

I'm guessing suicide. About time people started being creative about it.
Interesting.
Full respects to the deceased.
but:
1. Why would anybody hang themselves after slashing their wrists?
2. Why were both the DAP articles linked to by Porky in the first and second posts of this thread:

"..creative.." ?...maybe, but why the need to barricade the door (with bed) if it was bolted anyway?BillyB wrote:Interesting.

Barricade the door so no one enters. I don't find this strange if you are suicidal. Slitting one wrist and hitting a vein, then hanging yourself, implies he wanted to get the job done. RIP

Hanging yourself first, i'm sure it's a pretty slow way to go, then slitting your wrist is probably the best / easiest way to go.
Anyway, after more than 3 nights in PP i'd be ready to do the same. 2 nights is more than enough.

LoL, he still managed to last longer than many new arrivals here. I think the Lazy Monk barely outlasted him.casper_uk wrote: Anyway, after more than 3 nights in PP i'd be ready to do the same. 2 nights is more than enough.
David had money to come home, he was booked on a flight returning to NZ this Tuesday. As far as why would he leave the majority of his stuff in Sihanoukville? He loves the beach. David and I have traveled a lot together and sometimes if we found a place we really liked and we decided to visit somewhere else for short time we'd leave the majority of our stuff behind, it's always good to travel light, knowing we'd return.
David is a very gentle person who never hurt anybody, I know him extremely well and we're very close. I can't see how, or why he would commit suicide, especially in such a brutal manner, and how anyone can physically cut their wrists, be bleeding lots and weakend by this and the pain, can then have the energy and strength to hang themselves as well. Further more, he likes to sleep in in the morning, this happened to him in the morning...he usually likes to sleep in (unless we're going diving, skiing or catching a plane etc) and then grab coffee and a bite to eat to get moving in the morning.
He was an active person, a kind person, and a gentle person. All my love David, you are the very, very best brother a sister could ever have. xxx
