Actually the government intended to close down SISHA but but there was a cock up on the translation front.

You know you're doing it wrong when your NGO starts giving hookah bars a bad name.

When the girls told me what happened they said shisha...lol. I was confused as to why the hookah bar would attack Garage.

Oh well. That probably puts around 100 businesses out of business overnight, including some that aren't even open yet.
Saves me some money I suppose, but somehow makes Phnom Penh seem a little less interesting to me now.

Yeah, this is the first time it all makes sense.Felgerkarb wrote:

electronic cigarettes ?porky pig wrote: ស៊ីសា (Shisha) and electronic cigarettes.]
aaaahahaha... then, my ass, moving on... what you think...
i could understand, when a country bans tobacco cigarettes AND shisha AND ecigs, but not shisha and ecigs, while tobacco cigarettes are fine...

I think i might agree with you, but i dont have a fucking clue what you're saying.
Serious question: where are you from potty?
someone is pissed, that they dont make business with the new trends (shisha/ecigs)...
someone, i would bet, has their fat fingers very fat in the tobacco business here...
thats the prob...
NOWHERE shisha tobacco has been banned, not even by the EU... (its just taxed in certain amounts)...

Before I butchered he sentence (and you pared in down even further), it was all qualified by "at least no more than any other (legal) smoke you may put in your lungs."Buscador wrote:I would not call my statement cherry picking, which normally means ignoring the facts that dispute your argument and focusing only on the ones that support it. I was just trying to make clear which part of your post I found inconsistent. I could have just kept the whole post in the quote and highlighted those words, but this seemed cleaner. I'm still not sure what you were trying to say, which I find surprising considering that I generally find your posts to be some of the more well reasoned ones around, whether on this board or elsewhere.LTO wrote:Poorly worded sentence on my part. The shisha place around the corner from my house has been shut down, to the general approval of the local residents. They have long grumbled that the place is a drug den frequented by trouble makers.
(This auto-correct is fairly annoying. If I wanted to write SISHA I wouldn't have written shisha.)

And why weren't we told of these awesome places before now?LTO wrote:

I always hear of the cool places AFTER they're shut down. That's one of the main reasons I don't read the papers or watch the news much these days.
