It's so typically Cambodian Felger - develop a reputation as a little Asian Amsterdam and then, right as the tide is turning, decide now is the time to take tough action. Again, FFS

"The punishment for purchasing, storing or consuming more than 60 kilograms of dried marijuana is 20 years to life in prison, and fines between $10,000 and $25,000."
How can someone consume more than 60 kg?
The whole crackdown is definitely the opposite of common sense, so actually not surprising.

Strange how the original report said close to 2 tonnes and 4 men arrested. I wonder if this was Indica as opposed to Sativa. They sell Indica in Saigon and call it Canadian for some rip off price.

But that's kinda my point - presumably the Khmers aren't growing their weed with any more attention or care than they did when they dropped it in soup, as was traditional.
But taste some of the fruit here - unbelievable. This place is almost custom made to grow stuff.
Imagine the skunk that could be grown with proper care and attention. Id put it to you that the only reason BC bud is so revered is because of the care that goes into seed selection, cultivation and breeding.
But climatically, I reckon it would be much tougher.
The government would have to make it a national priority, using initially some sort of face saving declaration, 'we're growing it to serve the burgeoning medical marijuana industry' or some such. Then they could scale up from there as legalization takes root (pardon the pun) n the West.

I think everything you need to know is in that snippet, treading on someone's toes at a party is not a good idea.the ringleaders of a European-based gang
The varieties that come out of The Netherlands are truly amazing. I have a friend who used to grown outside in WA and the heads were as big as petrolhead's thighs and nearly as sweet.
He could get 8kgs per plant and even indoors people used to get a kilo off plants less than a metre high. The Dutch are masters at growing technology whether its flowers or dope. I have a mate in Uganda working on a flower farm for the Dutch.

^You're not wrong about the Dutch.
Their fresh cut flower operation in Da Lat is magnificent. They are now, literally, exporting Tulips to Holland.
