I received a pm very early this morning from a regular poster based in Sihanoukville saying that Tony Jones, the owner of Charlie Harpers in Sihanoukville died in a motorbike accident last night.
I haven't been able to confirm it yet, but have no reason to disbelieve it. Does anyone there know more?
If it's true, RIP. I know he will be well-known to many as an established part of the expat community in SHV.
Tony Jones of Charlie Harpers Bar dies in motorbike crash
Hope it's not true. Drank a few times at his old bar in Golden Lion Plaza (Office?) and went out with him a few times after closing. Found him to be a pretty stand up fella.

Really sad news regardless.
It seems so. Casper_uk posted as being the owner of Charley Harper's and also posted in January 2014 that he would be turning 50 in April, so the age matches.

Shit - another long termer, in another bike accident. RIP
Haha - my money’s on Playboy
I can't believe it. I guess it's true. The good die young. My sincerest condolences to his family in the UK and family here. Tony will be truly missed.
Tony was one of the nicest guys in town as well as a maniacal drinking partner on a pub crawl. He'd lost a lot of weight recently and had a new zest for life which makes this even sadder.
My thoughts are with Sun Eng and his family back in the UK
