Wow, I am Shocked!
I Just found this (must check this section more often).
Mal was a good friend with whom I had lost touch.
He moved to Cambodia around 2005 from Australia and that is when I first met him. He was a British National but was one of the 10 pound Poms and grew up in Australia and worked there and served in the Aussie Army for a while, he identified himself as an Aussie. He previously lived around the Frankston area of Melbourne.
In 2007 I was best man at his wedding in SHV, although he was living in PP at the time he met his bride when he was living in SHV previously. I wrote an article on the wedding for the Bayon Pearnik (issue 135, Nov 2007, available on their website) shortly after and sent it to his Mother who was happy to read about it. I think I have a video of his wedding on an old hard drive somewhere.
When we used to visit we used to stay at their place for the next couple of years.
I last ran into him at Sharkeys a couple of years back, he had divorced from his wife.
Yes he was the first manager of the Reef Resort when it opened.
This makes 4 people I know who have died in Cambodia in the last month - two of them I would of classed as good friends.

Note to self: Must be nice to morons.
