The case here involves a conviction on only three charges. I'm contrasting it with the ten year sentence Jack Sporich received under the same circumstances. That's not the worst though. A Thai court sentenced a woman to 141,078 years for corporate fraud in 1989.
I used to read about these strange sentences from the states quite regularly in the 1980s. Less so now. Has the policy changed?
