It's interesting to hear the police conjecturing it could be a robbery murder. Usually you expect them to not be bothered and brush it under the table.

That death scene looks suspicious.

Suspicious? He's hanging right? Has anyone in Cambodia ever bothered to murder someone and then stage the scene to look like a hanging suicide?

I don't know. I have never seen a suicide where the rope looks like it's been tied by Albert Pierrepoint and he has a bag over his head. Work with me here. This is a gavinmac classic - he's American, in SHV and hanging in his hotel room. Get to work.

Sounds like too much work for Khmer. It would take 3 or 4 to hang him like that while he was struggling. IMHO he hung himself and then employees stole all his shit, unless his head was bashed in before being hung.

that's a bet i would take, pretty sure it happened before. just short time ago a guy was killed and his body and moto where trown off a steep road to make it look like an accident. Now local have access to many tv shows so they are getting more criminal dramas to take inspiration from. However the fact that someone wants to make it look a suicide often means that the killer knew the guy well.

A bag over the head is very common in a lot of suicide methods, the logic is that if the attempt fails for any reason and you are only incapacitated you'll be suffocated by the bag.

There are whole websites dedicated to the most efficient ways to top yourself, most recommend the bag. I had a friend check out that way a few years back so did some research.

The two biggest considerations are firstly reducing the window mid attempt in which nature kicks in and you start to resist and secondly making sure it actually gets the job done.
