I have a distant memory of a subject about imports of Glock's with extended mags , imported by the military many years ago . Was it on K440 or a newspaper report ?
The killer was quick to confess why he killed , I wonder if he will confess who/where he obtained this weapon.
Thailand 7/11 perhaps .
That link isn't working for me.prahocalypse now wrote:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kem_Ley His wikipedia page has 'assassination' as cause of death.
I searched for 'Kem Ley Wiki' etc. earlier in the day both on Google and in Wikipedia app itself. No page existed then.

All over world media . BBC World News every half hour. Lot of pressure, was it expected?
Working for me now.

Page answers the question I had this morning. Kem Ley was born in Takeo, which is the same province Tith Samol (one of the names given earlier for the killer, but now not being referred to by police) was born in and maybe sold his land in

Very much a glock, later model too it seems and way harder to come by than say a chinese modern pistol.
It used to be 2 to 2.5,k for one in the early 00's.
In itself an extraordinary weapon for a migrant worker to possess and as already stated, the extanded magazine is probably a rarity in Cambodia.

Interior Ministry published this press release
which says that the gunman was chased by competent authorities and citizens shouting after him.
And I would say shortly afterwards Kampuchea Thmey publish this article http://kampucheathmey.com/kpt/?p=320045 (i say shortly afterwards as it reiterates the same last paragraph and other info from the press release) stating gunman fled on foot and was caught 20 minutes later by police at Wat Svay Pope.
20 minutes? From Bokor straight down Mao Tse Tung in 20 on a moto is hard with the traffic lights and jam that builds up at the end of MST. There's other routes you could take, but it's hard to believe especially if he was on foot and doesn't know Phnom Penh well.

If an election is held but there is no opposition, is it an election at all?scobienz wrote:One opposition leader in self-imposed exile in France. A second opposition leader holed up in a safe house in Phnom Penh, avoiding arrest. A third opposition leader gunned down in broad daylight.
Are we seeing a trend here?

In the youtube confession he said he bought it in Thailand...or has that alredy been mentioned?Duncan wrote:The killer was quick to confess why he killed , I wonder if he will confess who/where he obtained this weapon.

Indeed, in the filmed interrogation he identifies himself as Choub Samlab, 33, was owed money (or has known?) Kem Ley for a year, was lied to by the victim, money was for helping people, bought the gun in Thailand.LTO wrote:In the youtube confession he said he bought it in Thailand...or has that alredy been mentioned?Duncan wrote:The killer was quick to confess why he killed , I wonder if he will confess who/where he obtained this weapon.

The man has a distinct accent and he looks as he's reciting a play well rehearsed.
If the killer & fall guy was given the choice between say 10-50k to his his family against a year or do in the slammer, or being killed with his family if he doesn't keep his mouth shut, he sure had an incentive to learn his lines. The man has a distinct accent and he looks as he's reciting a play well rehearsed.
My money is on him getting killed in jail by other inmates or during an "escape attempt" in the next few months, weeks or days.
