He died in hospital in Siem Reap. He had pre-existing medical conditions, such as hypertension. He went to the hospital yesterday at about 3pm and died a couple of hours later. He was retired and seems to have been living in Cambodia for a long time.

Why is there no expiry date on his visa? And it says "permanent stay" in the remarks.
Is that a special visa that allows you to stay forever or until you...die?

it's a "K" visa for Cambodian nationals with a foreign passport.
One of the requirements for being issued a K-Type visa is that at least one of your parents must be Khmer, maybe his mother, or father, is Khmer?
I didn't realize that they could be issued by Cambodian Embassies abroad though, odd.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

It als seems odd to me that the visa was issued on the same day as his passport.

I guess a lost, stolen or renewed passport and the updated visa was backdated to the date of the passport.gavinmac wrote:It als seems odd to me that the visa was issued on the same day as his passport.
