There are a lot of older 'top blokes' who live up Vic Hill that would use it in the daytime and the girly bars would benefit at night. Bar St is much nicer than The Square because you don't have 10 different sources of music trying to drown each other out.Baconroll wrote:Victory Hill? Every time someone has tried to start a public bus service the local mafia has stopped it dead in its tracks to protect their rip-off members.
A baht bus running from Vic Hill - Downtown - Golden Lions - O'chheauteal - O'tres would be highly attractive priced at 2000R per journey.
Otres at night even on a bus might be subjected to a highway robbery...happens quite often (once is enough, but here about it at least 3 times a year usually from a victim....never on facebook etc)... might be harder to stop a bus but tuk tuks do get waved down//pulled over and the passengers robbed.
Are the tuk-tuk drivers ever implicated in these nighttime robberies on the road to Otres? I wouldn't ride my bike down there at night but I would happily sit in a government-run bus. As it is I always have to set off for town as the sun goes down so I have never seen Otres at night.
