Phnom Penh PostLocally, mobile operators and ISPs have bigger needs for growth, which we can satisfy through the increased bandwidth from the cable. We will also be able to sell capacity to local players for their international communications and overall communications will be much more secure.

Take it with a grain of salt, Ezecom said the cable would be done end of 2015 and didn't even know that NTT was working on the same thing

http://www.phnompenhpost.com/business/j ... cable-racePaul Blanche-Horgan, CEO of Ezecom, a subsidiary company of Royal Group and Cambodia’s largest internet service provider, said he was not aware of NTT Communications’ plans, but that his company’s AAG work was progressing well.
“We are currently picking vendors for the project. Negotiations are being held this month, that is why we are here [in Shanghai],” Blanche-Horgan said yesterday during a telephone call.
Originally slated for completion by the end of this year, The Ezecom high-speed internet cable, which will travel 1,425 kilometres under the Gulf of Thailand and have a data carrying capacity of 8 terabits, is not expected to be completed until the end of 2015, according to Blanche-Horgan.

I think yellow was too expensive so they made it black.

F speed, I'm looking for stability. Will it make the inet here more stable? It's up and down like a whore's draws. I noticed that Vietnam didn't have that problem 3 years ago. Fast enough and stable.

What area and what kind of buildings you guys live in? I see people complaining about the internet here and Facebook. I have lived in newish apartments in Phnom Penh for 3 years and for past 2 years I have never had any problem with my internet stability. Except maintenance once or twice per year when the whole internet is down for day or so. And in current place, the speed is already pretty nice (~30Mb/s upload/download and 2-4ms ping).Abou-Gor wrote:F speed, I'm looking for stability. Will it make the inet here more stable? Currently BKK3 and the provider is Mekongnet. 2/4 building it has been Mekongnet, one building it was Cootel and one I don't know, but in that building the connection was slow anyways.TristranandIsolde wrote:Roger,
