Phnom Penh: An Australian man was found dead in the bathroom on the second floor, room number 202. [He] died from a “fainting spell”* in Tonlesap guesthouse, causing commotion until authorities came to examine quickly, but in this case they suspect that the victim had overdosed on drugs [already].
These events took place at 8:30 in the morning of 1 December 2016 at the Tonlesap guesthouse, house numbers 4 and 6 on street 104, section (krom) 81, phum 8, sangkat Wat Phnom, khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
The victim’s name is ALLEN MARK WAYNE, male, 56 years old, Australian, and was a tourist, with passportnumber N9142714
According to sources at the place where it happened, the man has been staying in room 202 since 15 October 2016 and at 5 in the evening on 30 November 2016 had been sitting [downstairs?] as normal, but on the morning of the incident they did not see the victim leave his room and the cleaner smelled a stink [from the room]. When there was no answer after knocking on the door, the Tonlesap guesthouse used the [master] key to open the door and found the Australian dead in the bathroom. They reported this to the local authorities, who came to investigate at once.
After examination [by the police], the body of the victim was taken to be kept [refrigerated] at the Khmer-Soviet friendship hospital (aka. Russian hospital), and an official expert has examined the place where the incident happened and said that the victim died of a heart attack.
