During the past 3 years, I have dealt with the main forms of the Cambodian judiciary system, Municipal, Appeal and Supreme Courts, in an extended battle with my ex over custody of our 2 kids and damages for her ripping off and selling the house, farm and other items I bought while with her.
It was a very clear cut case supporting me and she appeared in court while serving prison sentences for defrauding other Khmers. Nevertheless, a bribe was demanded at both Municipal and Appeal level, before they found in my favour. The Supreme Court did not ask for a bribe, but left a certain amount of ambiguity over the sum of damages awarded, which may have been clarified by a payment to them. I didn't bother continuing, as I had already achieved my main goal of assuring the kids' futures.
