Well, it's all a matter of how much the ad would cost you, right?
And your benchmark wouldn't be FB stats but ideally an upward change in confirmed orders. As much as I dislike FB, i don't think you shouldn't dismiss it right away.

FB can be very effective. In certain sectors and environments, website advertising is dead/dying.
Cambodian advertising, if you ignore Facebook, you ignore 14 million possible customers.
Not sure any smart marketing guy would do that.

Trying to target specific tranches of Facebook user is near impossible in Cambodia.
How many folks have the wrong DOB, gender, location, place of work, education etc listed.
Also Khmer folk tend to like anything and everything so their digital profile is pretty much garbage.

I'm not dismissing FB advertising entirely as of now, I just don't understand how it works and I never try and commit to things that I don't understand or like. I might sign up with an account later on for business purposes, but after being solicited for some pretty astronomical advertising rates, I doubt I'll ever go that route as I think it's extremely overpriced.
I also do fine without FB advertising and without a marketing person too, so I see no need to further complicate things.

True. Their likes are worth nothing, and so it costs next to nothing to acquire them via promoted posts.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote:Trying to target specific tranches of Facebook user is near impossible in Cambodia.

There's some smart local shops making very effective content (not just ads) and getting massive amounts of discussion/engagement on posts. Not sure how much translates into sales, but in terms of local brand awareness they're doing very well.
I also believe, but not certain as I dont do any local get targeting, but I believe that it costs much the same to target barang here as it does to target Khmer. I think their pricing is based on geographic location, not just "quality".
