http://www.khmertimeskh.com/93230/The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology yesterday said that cold bouts of weather will begin in the middle of December and last longer and be cooler than previous years.
“From mid-December, the weather will start to be colder than normal,” ministry spokesman Chan Yutha said.
“We will inform the people so they know about the situation.”
He added that mountainous areas will see the coldest weather.
“Some places at night will see 17 or 18 degrees Celsius. It could be around 14 degrees Celsius along the mountain ranges and the northwest,” said Mr Yutha.
“People who are living nearby or in the area of mountain ranges will have to be careful with the cold weather.”
Mr Yutha noted that the cold weather will last until February.

Every winter the same thing: expats whining about the temperatures. After 2+ decades in SEA, the 12 degrees were a welcome respite; I was still walking around in shorts and T-shirt (and it was 2 degrees when I was in Sa Pa).

Funny, I've never heard expats (in Cambodia) whine about the cooler weather. Having to heat up water for a shower is a chore, but most folks welcome the chilly spell.
Massive stalker
I love the cold. I am hoping we get snow in Sapa this year a I want to take the kids up there if it does.
Then again I suppose so does everyone else so it might be a zoo up there. They say it snowed 60kn outside Hanoi a few years ago which i find hard to believe !?

Nothing wrong with a few weeks cold spell in Cambodia, is it?? Did yesterday some swimming at my club and the "colder" water felt very well.

Take a look on FB. As soon as temperatures drop below 25C, the howling about the cold temperatures start.pedros wrote:Hanno wrote:Every winter the same thing: expats whining about the temperatures. Ricecakes, it did snow on Tam Dao a few years back and Sa Pa had about 30 centimeters of snow.

I saw how those bathroom water heaters are wired up. When I moved into my new apartment, I had the landlord not install the heater. Two years now, and I've had a few cool showers, but I haven't been electrocuted once!

I hate the cold but it sure is nice to not have a sweaty arse crack for a change (22 degrees in Ha Noi at the moment). And really, 25 degrees would be a heatwave in Old Blighty.Mèo Đen wrote:Hell, as soon as the temperature falls below 30C I start complaining!Hanno wrote:pedros wrote:
