Over 13,000 Ganja Trees Destroyed by Authorities

Takeo: On February 25, 2018, over 10 thousand illegal marijuana crops were destroyed by the local authorities in Kirivong district, under the Baoyang mountain range in Chroy village, Preah Bat Chum Chom, Kirivong district, Takeo province.

The crackdown was carried out under the guidance of Major General Sok Samnang, the provincial police chief of Takeo, directing the command by Mr. Mak Sereavuth, Chief of Staff Drugs in Takeo province, in cooperation with Kirirong district police chief Yeuk Sarath and 77 police in Kirivong district to crack down and destroy the planting site.

The illegal pot plantation had 13,374 trees and destroyed 49 wells, water towers and other equipment. The Ba Yang Mountain range is located in Chroy commune, Bakong commune, Kirivong district, the site covered a total of 4,731 square meters.

Currently, the forces are searching for marijuana growers to be punished according to the law.
