American embassy sets up fugitive Alaskan for arrest by immigration police
The Post reported yesterday that immigration police arrested American Jan Sterling Hagen.
Notably, they arrested him right outside the U.S. embassy and at the direction of embassy officials.

We've discussed before that if you're a fugitive and you go to the embassy for passport services, they will revoke your passport and then rat you out to the Cambodian police who will come to arrest you for being in the country without valid paperwork.
I'm assuming that's what happened here, how else would Cambodian immigration police have known where the guy was? I'm guessing embassy staff called them when the guy was still in the embassy and told them "He's coming out, arrest him when he leaves the building and sets foot on Street 51."
Next, he will be "deported" the USA because there's no extradition treaty between Cambodia and the USA.
Hagen is wanted in Alaska for felony third+ offense DUI, which has violated the terms of his sentencing in his prior sex assault and drug possession convictions, so the state has reopened the sentencing of those cases also. Hagen was due in court on all three cases but fled to Cambodia, as one does.
I note that if the embassy had similarly orchestrated the immediate arrest of William Bryan Glenn when he walked out of the embassy in July 2014, he'd probably still be alive. So maybe this is progress.

You've got an embassy the size of a city block. I'm glad to hear that the staff are up to a bit more than putting up with endless queues of visa applicants. I'm glad this guy is out of here anyway, he's probably a fucking psycho and could have done more crimes here if he hadn't been caught. Idea for criminals, wait till you get a new passport before you go on the run!
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
just shows complete bumbling incompetence to me. how/why did they let him out of the country in the first place

Massive stalker
It's more cost effective not to. Better fill the prisons with lazy criminals like potheads et al. If a murderer escapes it's cheaper for the state and good riddance for the people.gavinmac wrote:The USA does not perform exit immigration checks.
always wondered why all these american chose not to live in their own country which they are forever ranting about how wonderful it is, now i know, it because they are all fugitives on the run from the law. its a wonder that any country lets them in given the mind set. all should be required to produce a current police clearance before being given any visa at all

Got this confused with the "sociopath wallows in his own filth thread" formerly known as "Anti-US Propaganda" thread.
Are you a 'Murican? You seem infatuated with the US so I am assuming so. If not I find it rather odd how obsessed you are with it.
I am one of them Seppos myself and am pretty disenfranchised with the USA as well. That being said, my disdain doesn't encompass my life. You should try to re-focus your energy to a healthier endeavor.

The truth shall set you free.
