Orphanage Bus Crash Kills 4, Including 1 Australian
(Takeo): A bus carrying member of a children's organization hit a mango tree, leaving four people dead and ten seriously injured onin the afternoon of June 22, 2018, along National Road No. 3 in Po Srey village, Nanchonghong commune, Tramkok district, Takeo province.
Takeo provincial police chief Brigadier General Sok Samnang said that the bus contained a total of 15 people, traveling from Kep province across Kampot province to Phnom Penh, driving at a high speed to the point of accident. The bus hit the mango tree on the right hand side.
According to the head of the accident headquarters, there were four fatalities, including one Australian woman and seven serious injuries. The driver escaped from the scene, leaving the victims behind.
After the incident, the victims were sent to hospital and the bodies await family for traditional festivals, while the bus is being kept at Tram Kok District Police Inspectorate waiting for the case to be resolved later.
