It would definitely slow things down, if it happens.logos wrote:All the Chinese moves and grand plans were initiated well before Trump decided to sink the world's economies by imposing tariffs and embargoes on friends, foes and former allies.
I wonder what effect the inevitable economic slowdown will have in Chinese outflows and investments in the country.
Remains to be seen if its just hardball negotiation tactics and if compromises will be reached.
Defo drunk defo enjoying my own company, as I’m the only one left. Defo don’t remember posting!logos wrote:Already drunk yatingpom ? Whats up, no longer enjoying chinookville and your own company ?
It’s an interesting question. I can see China setting up more factories in Cambodia and then selling its products as Cambodian. I’m sure Cambodia gets lower tariffs being an emerging nation.
pew, pew, pew, pew!

Not that I'd know anything about that.
I refuse to go out with nothing more than a whimper followed by a small farting sound and a shit stain on my bed sheets..
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Boo-fucking-hoo. It's quite aways out of town for starters. The beer virus sure put the kibosh on tourism for this year. It's a different world now.
I'm more concerned about the two condo highrises being built right on the riverside. It will be delicious when in the next dam overflow release their elevator shafts fill with river water. Who wants to walk from the top floor?
Also, the workers on that project keep banging away all night long pounding the foundation pillars in. It must suck living around there.

China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC) on Friday secured a contract from a Cambodian firm to construct a multi-purpose seaport in southwestern Cambodia’s Kampot province.
The contract was inked here between CHEC-Cambodia office’s managing director Lan Qiuli and Meas Thom, president of Kampot Logistics and Port Company, under the presence of Cambodian Minister of Public Works and Transport Sun Chanthol.
The 600-hectare Kampot Logistics and Port project began in May last year, with the Shanghai Construction Group and the China Road and Bridge Corporation also being the contractors.
Chanthol said the 15-year project is estimated to cost $1.5 billion, and the construction has been divided into three phases.
The first phase from 2022 to 2025 is expected to cost $200 million, he said.
The 15-meter deepwater port will be able to accommodate vessels weighing up to 100,000 tons and capable of handling 300,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in 2025 and up to 600,000 TEUs in 2030.
“This mega-project includes a container terminal, a special economic zone, a free trade area, a logistics hub, an oil refinery, and a terminal for tourist vessels, among others,” he said.
The minister said it will be the third largest port in the Southeast Asian country after the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port in the coastal city of Sihanoukville and the freshwater Phnom Penh Autonomous Port in the capital Phnom Penh.
