I'd say the pickle is that neither kid is his.
American Rastafarian stuck in Suriname with Khmer family. . .
In that case, the kids are on K-2 visas that process together with the K-1. It doesn't impact the processing times.
I am assuming the biological father is not causing an issue, that would be a different story.

I could not read all of it but it clearly says that he met the mother when the oldest was two.
It just seems like a lot of agro for something so simple - stay in Cambodia.

pew, pew, pew, pew!
Was somebody questioning if the kids were his or not?
I know if my son was my biological child or not that he would arrive in USA with his mom on the same day anyway.

I know the laws of physical attractions say you cannot control who you fall in love with however when it comes to being a ( youngish ) westerner in Cambodia I can never understand why blokes get involved with women who have kids.

From what I recall, he posted on Facebook years ago that his family only wanted to visit the USA so he was moving them to Ecuador because he thought they had a better chance of getting a tourist visa if they were Cambodians applying from Ecuador. Because then they wouldn't be interviewed at the embassy by other Cambodians looking down on them, and it would be easier for his family to visit them in Ecuador.
He has absolutely made a meal of this whole situation, moving three Cambodians to Ecuador and then Suriname with no plan or money to get them out, and then blaming everyone but himself for their predicament. I feel bad for the Cambodians in this story. I hope they have learned enough Dutch to get by in Suriname.
Shit, man. I've heard of bad karma but this is pretty high up there. If you've got kids, you better play by the rules and over-research all your next moves.
It all started to go wrong here in Cambodia: "My annual request of work and work permit were denied, ..." and I believe PSD_Kiwi is right.

^ this. The amount of self inflicted grief is this case is quite remarkable.
Maybe he's cleverer than we credit him for and had a grand master plan all along to turn this into a movie?
