The accused pervert was invited to a meeting where he could explain his version of the events. At first he agreed, but upon hearing that the police would be involved and that there are multiple witnesses he backed out.
Siem Reap pervert points phone up little girl’s skirt
I'm not defending the accused in any way; if he actually did what he is accused of, he's indeed a pervert and should face consequences.
However, I also think he doesn't even stand a chance when you involve the Cambodian police in this, who as everyone longer than a month in Cambodia knows, are interested in nothing but getting some easy money. Finding the truth? Yeah, right. The FB post above even already mentions a 'court case'. I see, the accused is 'invited' to explain his side but at the same time is already guilty?
I'm sorry but if some unknown accuses me of something and gets the Cambodian police involved before I can even explain, I'd also immediately back off.

I am in no way defending the guy, but I will say that a group of Arabs I worked with, who went for training in the UK got themselves in quite a pickle when they started taking photos of kids in a park there. To them, it was nice to see kids happy in a park, being free and being kids and they wanted to show their families back home. The parents, however, saw a group of Middle-Eastern guys taking photos of their kids without permission and assumed the worse. They were, by all accounts, lucky to be able to leave having wiped the pictures. They could not understand why parents were not happy that people wanted to take photos of their kids. Of course, that's a world away from a single man upskirting little girls, but like I say, cultural anomalies do occur and perspectives can be world's apart.
If I were innocently taking photos in a park in a foreign country with corrupt law enforcement, and someone asked me to attend a meeting with cops to discuss if I was pedophile, I would politely decline.
