I sure would love to see my daughter, but as there are no flights, this is all pretty meaningless.

It's at least a step in the right direction. Both my nationalities were on that list, can you believe my luck?
I've staid in Bangkok throughout the pandemic. Getting a COVID-19 certificate as well as a visa for Cambodia here wouldn't be a problem and I already have medical insurance, but I won't travel while the prospect of state quarantine is still on the table.
Flights and getting back into Thailand are also open questions at this point. So it's really just a step, albeit a welcome one.

Are land crossing possible at all or are all the borders officially closed?

Thailand land borders for westerners are closed

Still a moot point for us in Japan, as foreigners leaving here still can't get back in. Ugh.

Really? Some immigration mouth breathers told me specifically the opposite, but your info is better than mine on these visa specifics. They told me they still will stamp them invalid as they were issued "before" upon exiting. They won't hunt you down to check if you are already in country, but if you leave...PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Wed May 20, 2020 8:41 pmThat only applies to Visas that were issued in advance but hadn't been used yet at the time of the announcement. ie. e-Visas and any other Visa issued at a Cambodian Embassy/Consulate.
Multi-entry/exit Visas and/or Extensions of Stay which are not expired are still valid
I consider this the usual clusterfuck until specifics are issued dealing exactly with this point. Remember, lower level officials will ALWAYS overplay it.

Regarding the visas, info based on several first hand reports of foreigners with valid multi-entry/exit Visa EOS's returning to Cambodia no issues with the DoI. Some airlines check-in staff, as usual, were not clued up however after taking a picture of Visa EOS and liaising with Airports Cambodia, pax allowed to check-in and board flight.
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

Sounds good. Although I am talking about leaving Cambodia with a valid visa that was issued before COVID lock downs being stamped cancelled STILL when you leave, say on a planned short trip out of Cambodia. Those guys told me they have not been told to stop cancelling valid visas on EXIT, even if it has 6 months left on it, if it was issued before the lock down.PSD_Kiwi wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 12:18 pm^ This.Felgerkarb wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 9:01 am

As I said, no idea if they are RIGHT, just saying what they are doing/trying to do. Just be prepared.

same with Cambodian embassy in Bangkok
In order to reduce and contain the transmision of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and in line with the measures taken by ASEAN countries, the Royal Government of Cambodia has decided to impose the temporary entry restrictions into the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Suspension to:
1- Visa exemption policy
2-Issuance of Tourist Visa
3-e-Visa (Online visa)
4-Visa upon arrival

I mean, getting the COVID test would also be a massive hurdle in Japan. Healthy people can’t just get that on a whim here.
