Happy ending of land dispute with German husband and Cambodian ex-wife
A dispute over 1,100 hectares of land in Kampong Speu's Phnom Sruoch district has been resolved.
Rainer Maria Wollny, a businessman and president of Delta W Trading Co. Ltd, had his ex-wife arrested for forging documents to claim ownership of his company's land in 2014. The woman was sentenced to 30 months in jail and ordered to pay her ex-husband $180,000 in damages.
Judge Leang noted that the ex-husband also accused her of trying to sell the land to a Cambodian businessman for $2 million.
The Prime Minister's Special Assistant helped the couple reach a win-win solution, which resulted in a successful settlement of the dispute.
The Special Assistant thanked the Prime Minister of the Royal Government, for giving him the opportunity to participate in the settlement of this dispute. In accordance with the Prime Minister's win-win policy, he helped honest foreign citizens and investors find justice.
He pointed out that Prime Minister Hun Sen cares about his compatriots and people of all walks of life. Prime Minister Hun Sen never tires, and takes every effort to take care of people's lives and lead the country to prosperity.
He said that the dispute is complicated. Since 2015, there have been 5 lawsuits between the two, and they have continued to this day.
"However, according to the win-win policy of Prince Hun Sen, we have achieved satisfactory results in only one day, and both parties are very satisfied", he said that the win-win policy has achieved a win-win situation, including both parties, local governments and courts.

What was the outcome of this win-win? she got jail time fined and lost the land? what did she win aside from an orange jumpsuit?
Interesting how there have been two cases of late which involved westerners being screwed over (the American in Kampot and this one) and both had HE Hun Sen get involved and award the wins to the Westerner. A change in direction for 'S'Cambodia?

It seems they split the title in half and they got one each. They also settled shared debt but it’s not clear how.Guest wrote: ↑Mon May 25, 2020 11:40 pmWhat was the outcome of this win-win? she got jail time fined and lost the land? what did she win aside from an orange jumpsuit?
The couple has a son together. The German guy may have decided that losing half was better than all, and that 5 years fighting was enough.
Win-win...

Apparently she already sold 779 hectares in 2016. That's 229 more than she actually owns through this settlement.
Kampong Speu governor Vei Samnang told The Post that she promised authorities and an assistant to Prime Minister Hun Sen that she would return the land to 38 families who bought 1,100ha from her in 2016 at Dambouk Roung commune, Phnom Sruoch district.
Old man just wants peace and quiet.Thirty-eight families on Friday claimed that they bought 779ha of land for $1.1 million from Chan Makara. They asked for intervention from Prime Minister Hun Sen after learning that Chan Makara and her husband agreed on a settlement, but did not solve the land dispute with them (the people).
In the petition, the citizens said more than 700ha were bought with acknowledgement from village, commune and district chiefs that they owned the land. They paved the road, ploughed, dug canals and ponds and planted various crops costing $6.2 million more.
But in April last year, Wollny, the director of Delta W Trading Co Ltd sued them to take the land back and sued his wife for faking documents to sell the land to the 38 families.

“He is already 74 years old and he does not want to spend the rest of his life fighting this in court,” he said.
