This waitress at Ostro Bistro bar in Street 136, Phnom Penh, managed to steal more than $100 from me. Watch your wallet and change carefully if you go there.

Ostro Bistro waitress steals $100+ from Khmer Times Business Editor
Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
According to Hughes' online bio he is a graduate of Trinity College, Oxford and has lived in Asia for 30 years. You would think he would be able to find a pharmacy by himself.
A thirty year career which culminates in being a Mohan lackey earning crap money at the shittiest newspaper in Asia - well, that’s got to be pretty depressing.
He had money stolen and is calling her out on it, quick let’s rip this guy to shreds.
"Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. Those who can't teach, teach English."

Mohan's hiring standards must be improving; the last washed up Khmer Times editor featured on this site got stabbed by a local girlfriend in the foot.

Terry Friel and Jim Brooke were also 136 regulars. What is it with 136 that attracts old white men from Khmer Times?

i be a bit pissed off if an employee of mine stole money from a customer at my place, i would have just paid the guy the money stolen and taken it out of her final pay,
What kind of idiot tempts a Khmer girl with that kind of errand?
If.I have my wife go get me some medicine she will get me a better deal and I probably will give her some dough.
Asking a lady at some bistro in PP?
Pure insanity...
This guy set her up to fail on this mission.
Sure, you want her to be a good little gofer and bring back the meds and change and get on her knees and suck his old cock for a tip.
But, it seems crazy during these china plague days to expect such servitude.

The guy got unlucky.
I much prefer giving some beggar money for doing something. That little ratpack of youngsters on the riverside i often ask to go and buy me something i need. They hare off come back with receipt and change and I give 'em a dollar and maybe they get a bit of self-respect. Dunno.
Very recently that guy with no arms and legs who really can't do much was pushing himself along 172. Asked him to keep an eye on my bicycle while I walked over to the shop and gave him a bit of money when I got back. He seemed genuinely delighted to get paid to do something, not just have money chucked in his bucket.
On the other hand was sitting outside a friend's restaurant and a fit, able bodied man came along just asking for money. We handed him a broom and asked him to sweep up the front of the place. He looked at us as if we were completely mad and hurried off, so fuck him.

I call BS on the whole medicine/pharmacy story.
First off he claims to not have had change when he was at a business that could have easily given him the required change.
So I contend he gave her the $100. because he was buying a "special" expensive medicine which is not purchased at any pharmacy.
Purchasing illegal drugs from nefarious individuals passing through several hands is always a gamble. He has passed the task on to others to risk being caught and imprisoned on his behalf and has received what he deserved, in my humble opinion.

This makes quite a bit of sense. Or he could've been angling for a shag, thinking that a gift of $100 would've helped his cause, and then got frustrated when it didn't pan outBeaker wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 9:06 amI call BS on the whole medicine/pharmacy story.

I know her, she's usually quite sweet. Most of the waitresses at Ostro are nice. It's their other branch, Gastro on st. 130 I don't like as the waitresses are sour faced and unfriendly.
