19 men and 1 woman swore the oath of allegiance as Cambodian citizens this afternoon. The swearing-in ceremony took place after the 20 foreigners had properly met the qualifications to become Cambodian citizens.
The swearing-in ceremony was held in the Supreme Court in accordance with the principles and procedures of the Nationality Law.
As per Articles 16 and 17 of the Law of the Management of Foreigners, foreigners who have already acquired Cambodian nationality through a Royal Decree shall swear an oath before the Supreme Court. The Royal Decree granting Cambodian nationality is handed over to the person concerned after taking the oath. FRESH NEWS

Does young the Prince Bank front man speak and write Khmer? Or, does the citizenship he and Angelina received have only the requirement of a significant donation?
And, If the Angelina started Samlout/Pailin project has Brad's name in the name, and presumably some of his $$ as well, why isn't he an honorary Khmer citizen? Anyone know when last he visited?

Kinda cool on Brad, but his Ex has some sizzle. A better person now it seems, but she was a hot one when I saw her and Billybob in Cambodia shooting pool and ordering a "Chicken Gordon Blue". By the time she was visiting Cambodia with Brad, I think she didn't often drop into random Cambodian bars and restaurants. Unfortunately that kind of privacy was long gone.
About trading USA citizenship for Cambodia, I heard some orange coloured American has already been making the same inquiry. So there is that.

What are the requirements for becoming a citizen? Has anyone been naturalized after living in the country continuously for seven years and passing the civic requirements like speaking and reading Khmer?

There have been a few revisions I believe since this original, but this is the general basis:

Be aware that if you apply via the official route only paying the official fees, it can take a minimum 2-3 years for your application to be processed.
One of the people who attended the swearing-in ceremony as mentioned in the OP managed to have his application , based on marriage, approved in 1 month ...for the sum of $25,000, and wasn't required to pass a language assessment.

I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

If you are Chypriote, think about it twice.
The reverse process might cost 500,000 $, ask your nearest minister / okhna in PP.

i'd do for the $25000 it if there was a well mapped out legal route through reputable persons, shhesh i could possibly even marry a khmer but that part being optional would definitely seal it
