Cambodia updates entry requirements with mandatory 14 day quarantine for arriving foreigners and Cambodians
PSD_Kiwi, Cheers!
As a side note. They just fogged the hotel hallway with disinfectant. I feel no safer, but appreciate the enthusiasm.

Too much of a pain in the arse for me. You would have to be desperate to go to Cambodia to go through this nonsense.
Are the arriving Chinese quarantining ?
Not if they’re here for less than 14 days and have a negative test, that applies to everyone.Misty wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 12:47 pmAre the arriving Chinese quarantining ?
pew, pew, pew, pew!
Perhaps I'm wrong but I thought only those who are FULL sponsored and have a Ministry of Health approved work schedule are allowed to leave their Govt approved quarantine location before 14 days, but after a negative result on the first at-airport covid test.
Not a clever loophole if you ask me.

Serious question: am I the only one thinking some hotels paid govt to appoint them? $60/day, plus $30/day for meals? Jaysus, the occupancy must be close to 100%, they must be loving it. Has anybody checked who owns these places? Conflict of interest, much?
Correct. After first negative test they are released to conduct their business as per their schedule, but must self-quarantine when nothing scheduled. Self-quarantine can either be at the hotel they were first assigned to or other MoH approved quarantine hotel, or MoH approved property assigned by the sponsor.Guest999 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 30, 2020 2:46 pmPerhaps I'm wrong but I thought only those who are FULL sponsored and have a Ministry of Health approved work schedule are allowed to leave their Govt approved quarantine location before 14 days, but after a negative result on the first at-airport covid test.

Some news say yesterday that this is changing
"all foreign and Cambodian passengers arriving in the Kingdom are no longer allowed to conduct self-quarantine at home"

Pardon my engrish, thanks you.
raendi Either sloppy reporting (most likely, as it is the KT), clueless about recent changes (unlikely), or he is referring to ALL arrivals including VAPG Sponsored short term business travellers, and A-type & B-type Visa holders, no exception, which is the way it should be...but so far there has been no official changes to the new regulations which went into effect 18th Nov.

By that time SinoVac should have already sent 50m doses to cambodia in trade for "future favors" Once that happens things will loosen up.

Voa and hit it on 172.

Another update... As of Dec. 12: "The Sponsorship Mechanism for all foreign passengers who are investors, businesspersons, company staff, experts and technicians must be postponed temporarily until the COVID-19 situation eases."
The implication is that after Dec. 12, it will be harder or impossible to get a visa at all... temporarily? hmmm...

Ouch, and something is also happening with the schools to, though I don't know yet what that is. My guessing would be, the school closures are extended until the end of the year. I will probably know by tomorrow.

I don'r read it that way. I think currently there are "regular" invited business visa holders who can enter Cambodia and do 14 day quarantine, and "sponsored" passengers who can enter Cambodia and "test out" of quarantine after two days and then conduct business. So maybe they are just cutting out the loophole for sponsored passengers to test out of quarantine. It's not clear though.Orichá wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:15 pmAnother update... The VAPG sponsorship scheme has been cancelled, ALL arrivals now will have to quarantine for 14 days.
