Maybe, if they hadn't gone and fucked up and posted half the table and half the graph key.Orichá wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 12:15 pmInteresting statistics...

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
You are both correct: interesting and yet flawed.
Anyone know where the full graph might be found? Was it only a paper fold that cut off the Sihanoukville total?
About Banteay Meanchey, I think that not only is the above mostly unreported large number likely to be correct (maybe a day or 2 old?), but that it grew from around 100 in the space of the last 15 days. First 150 mostly Thai labor returnees and Chinese speaking Indonesian Casino workers, before HE allowed the masses to expand from PP. Then traders and Casino related folks moving west when PP opened. Then close living Poipet masses more generally.
Since Feb 20, I've been feeling Casino folk owe the rest of Cambodia a huge favour for screwing everything up for pretty much every man woman and child in the country. More than dropping a mil on vaccines, or packages of rice, oil, and fish sauce. However, at least partly it is the nature of transnational borders that squish poor workers together. Banteay Meanchey is OK, Banteay Chmar and etc., but Poipet has always seemed, at best, a mess. Cambodia's Eastern borders,... somewhat similar?

The game has just changed somewhat but no need to panic, apparently

These charts are from the excel guy on Facebook. He has been sharing on expat pages for the past month or so. Some interesting stats and trends,
What is interesting (to me) is that the 7 day moving average of recent infections is almost at the same level as they were before we went into lockdown.
Now city hall have stopped giving daily number of new Phnom Penh infections - but 6 days ago PP made up half the numbers.
It’s estimated that 70% plus of Phnom Penh is somewhat vaccinated and maybe around 40% fully vaccinated. I wonder if the higher numbers are now being dominated by non-PP cases.
Shouldn’t we see numbers starting to reduce pretty soon? Given the high vaccination numbers of the biggest urban area. Numbers of daily deaths are still in region of 5-10, but these are likely people infected a month or so ago.
Why would numbers decrease? Those who are vaccinated can still get infected and spread it around. They are less likely to end up in hospital. Given that the average Khmer think he is immume after a single shot and goes his merry way.....

Yes, you still can get infected but there is a decreased risk of infection. Estimates are in range of 50-70% lower risk of infection. Therefore it stands to reason that if you are half as likely to be infected, and are still using masks, distancing etc then the numbers will decrease.Pooh Bear wrote: ↑Thu Jun 03, 2021 10:52 amWhy would numbers decrease? I dont think the average Khmer thinks he/she is immume (sic). Some do, yes, but there has been massive education on this in recent months.
