A team of archeologists from the Ministry of Environment is studying 65-190 million year old fossils found near the Tatai Wildlife Sanctuary in Koh Kong, the ministry wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
Mr. Lim Vanchan, Director of the Office of the Heritage Area Development, said on Tuesday that the fossils are 70 long and 20 cm wide. He added that this may be the first animal bone fossils found in Cambodia and appear in the sandstone layer. The ministry estimates them to be 65-190 million years old.
The Ministry of Environment will continue to study the discoveries together with archeologists to determine the species.
